Tommy had his first trip to the dentist yesterday. (By the way, 5 minutes with a children’s dentist costs $150 around here. Why didn’t I take Regina’s advice and make sure that Derek had dental insurance before I married him?=)) Now Tommy’s very excited about his new toothbrush, mirror, flosser, and hourglass timer!
I need to get Aidan in soon…how did Tommy do sitting in the chair, etc…?
He was pretty squirmy, but they actually had a tv on the ceiling so kids can look up and watch a movie while the dentist looks at their teeth. They had sunglasses for the bright light, and I sat at the end of the chair and helped straighten him out. I think it was totally worth it to see a children’s dentist because he wouldn’t have been able to handle an adult office. And the dentist and her assistant were both really patient, bubbly, and kid-friendly. So I’d definitely recommend finding a children’s dentist to make it a positive experience!
