And yesterday as we hung out for hours at Children’s Hospital LA, I taught her to say, “My name is Annie!”
Counts up to 15 and makes animal sounds (moo, baa, oink, ruff, meow, roar)
Fills in blanks on songs like ABCs, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Row Your Boat, If You’re Happy and You Know It, Itsy-Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, My God is so Great, Jesus Loves Me
Yay for Annie! That is quite an increase in vocabulary and I know you and the family are working very hard with her.
Why were you hours at Children’s Hospital??
She had an appointment with the GI there. She lived there the first six months of her life, as their NICU is the best in the area for micro-preemies (under 1 lb 10 oz or so). So she still sees all her specialists there, since they’ve been seeing her since birth. It took me over an hour and a half to get there last time, so I left plenty early and ended up getting there in 45 minutes! So we were extra early, then of course we had to wait well past her appointment time to be seen, and then he had to go consult with a colleague about one of her issues, so we waited in the exam room even longer. And at the end of it all, he basically said we could drop one of the meds that hasn’t done any good, didn’t have any new solutions to stopping her vomiting, and said “see you in 3-4 months” (though the first available appointment was May 30). Yeah.
