After 5 1/2 years of gaming with just the two of us, we were super excited to introduce Tommy to his first real game–Gulo Gulo! Tommy loved having a family game night! He wanted to read the directions just like Daddy, and he quickly caught on to the rules. I’m so thrilled that we’ve reached the stage where we can play games together as a family!

A brief game review: We were introduced to Gulo Gulo at the Talcott’s, where Ellie (3 at the time?) did quite well at it. We’ve been wanting to pick up a good little kid game, and this really fit the bill. The rules are simple–Tommy understands to take turns flipping tiles and picking out an egg of the right color–and it goes pretty quickly for short attention spans that can’t sit still through Candyland. The goal is to pick eggs out without knocking over the stick, and little fingers do that better than older ones, so adults are at the right amount of disadvantage to have little ones win fair and square. It’s more expensive than your standard toy aisle kid’s games, but considering that we’ve already played it half a dozen times, I think it will be a good investment. All in all, we’d definitely recommend this game for little gamers in the making!
Did you find it on Amazon? I picked up a few card games for Aidan for Christmas. This one looks like a lot of fun too!
We got it at a specialty game store in Columbia–they probably carry it on Griffin Books and Games in downtown SB (can’t remember the cross street, but a couple blocks north of the library just off Main).
Ive passed that store a few times. I will definitely have to stop in!
Haaa–just wait ’till you’re sick of it 🙂
