So Derek and I decided yesterday to take a break from potty training. Every time we do it, I feel like we really make progress and could make it if I stayed on top of things better, but the real problem is that Tommy can usually keep his training pants dry but is pooping erratically, so I can’t tell when I need to put him in a diaper. I did teach him this past week how to scrape off/swish dirty training pants in the toilet and clean himself up so I just have to check him, so I am happy to say that I only have one child’s dirty diapers to worry about from now on. Won’t they love in 15 years that I published this info to the world?! So we’re taking a complete two-week break from potty training, and hopefully after hanging out with the Simpson and Talcott kids at the end of the month, Tommy will be ready to try again and GET it before his birthday!!!!
Maybe there is hope…after I typed the above, Tommy called to me that he wanted to use the potty and get an M&M…and he did! I think this taking-a-break thing is working swimingly.=)
