Ingredients:
- marshmallows
- chocolate covered digestive biscuits (the British version of a graham cracker cookie–I got mine at a British import store, but I have since seen them in the import section of the cookie aisle at our local grocery store.)
Directions:
So I unabashedly stole this idea from Adrielle’s blog…just making a minor modification…
No campfire? That’s okay! Just use the hot oven after you take out your dinner! (In our test kitchen, we let the oven cool for about 15 minutes before roasting the marshmallows.)
A couple minutes later–this may take a little longer because you can’t stick your marshmallow right into the fire and burn it to melt it…none of that carcinogenic black stuff here!
When your marshmallow is nice and soft (but not too soft–you don’t want to scrape mallow off the floor of your oven), combine and congratulate yourself on a classy-looking treat.
Last step: enjoy your creation! As Adrielle reports, the melted marshmallow is indeed just warm enough to melt the chocolate on your biscuit. Derek was a big fan…
Mmmmm. Now that’s a smore!
HEY. Why didn’t we make these during the weekend?!
I can’t believe you’ve heard of digestives! I LIVED off of those things while I was in China! I love them! It’s been so long since I’ve had them…I’m excited that we have access to them in the Lou! Thanks for all the recipe ideas on your blog–very fun!
I love smores too and have been known to make them in the toaster oven when we don’t have our fire pit up and going. Yummy!
