Tommy is getting so big, Emily! I can’t believe it! Brad and I were in Chicago over the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We had lunch at Macy’s and it reminded me of when the girls and I met you and Tommy for lunch a few years ago! We miss you guys!
That is a super cute picture. You look like you have a beautiful view out the window. So, in my continuing quest to determine whether Christina is just strange, I was wondering if Lizzie will eat her sandwhich without pulling it apart? Even with penut butter, Chrissy takes the bread apart, licks/scrapes the penut butter off, then eats the bread. It makes me hesitent to give her penut butter because it makes such a mess. At least with lunchmeat its just strange, not disasterous. Also, how are you feeling. Hope the pregnancy is going well.
I haven’t even tried to give Lizzie a real sandwich–I give her the bread, cheese, and meat separately on the plate, and she eats them one at a time. Since Derek’s allergic to peanut butter, we have to buy super expensive substitutes, and with her weird allergies so far, I haven’t even bothered giving her cashew or almond butter yet, but I know she would do the same thing as C and make a huge mess! =)
Em didn’t mention this, Alison, but Tommy (at 3.5 years) has been pulling apart his sandwiches recently. He became obsessed with how Frances in Bread and Jam for Frances eats bread and jam. So instead of an almond butter and jelly sandwich, he insisted for several weeks on eating a slice of bread and jam and a slice of almond butter and jam, separately. He’s starting to eat sandwiches again, but kids go through funny phases!
Always good to know Chrissy isn’t crazy (at least not in her eating)!! She does love the penut butter so I do give it to her sometimes. Sorry to hear Lizzie has allergies too, maybe something she will grow out of!!
Leslie,
I have a little boy a bit older than Lizzie and he does the same thing with peanut butter sandwiches. A few days ago I discovered that it is far less messy to just give him a spoon full of peanut butter (replenished multiple times) to eat alongside his bread or crackers. He just sits there licking it off the spoon happily. :~D
