***warning: good housewives may want to skip this post, as certain confessions may shock and disgust them and make them never want to set foot in my kitchen again***
I’m taking a break from housecleaning to blog. Sigh. The good thing about having in-laws who live in an immaculate house is that when they’re coming over, you realize that you haven’t mopped your kitchen floor in almost a month. (I know! I know! But the hardwood hides everything…) I sweep every day, but the broom-dry swiffer-swiffer mop combination gets the hardwood so much cleaner, and now I have swiffers again, so I set out at 9 am to start doing all of the floors in the house. Two hours and three discipline sessions later, the upstairs was done and the downstairs was swept and partially swiffered (and the stainless steel kitchen appliance faces were cleaned with their special cleaner for only the second time since we moved in). Tommy really got into it, bringing the kitchen trash can to whatever room I was sweeping so that I could empty my “dirtys” into the trash can.

I would be done by now, except we have about 30 square miles of hardwood flooring in our house, so cleaning our appliances sounded like a nice change of pace. Now off to feed Tommy some leftovers, make some brown sugar-free bread for Dad M., tackle the bathrooms, and mop that kitchen floor…
I am pretty sure I haven’t mopped our floors in a good month or so too- good thing KG is coming over next week otherwise it might be another month before they get cleaned!
Yep, thank goodness for company keeping us clean! =)
I would just like to say that I adore this pic of Tommy. It is less cute, admittedly, when I read about what he did a few hours later, but still cute nonetheless.
