This week, I did a kid swap with a homeschooling friend from church–I took Joey for the morning, and she took Elizabeth to play with her daughter. Joey loves arts and crafts, so Tommy and I decided we’d plan a fun art project, and we got the idea to do apple stencils from pinterest. The boys told me how they wanted their “pumpkin faces” to look, and I carved accordingly. Since we didn’t have orange paint, we had to experiment with how much yellow and red to mix together for the desired shade of orange. Joey had stamped out four pages worth of pumpkins before I got my camera; Tommy was slower and more methodical, and he liked seeing how many times he could stamp it without re-wetting his apple. We’ll definitely have to make this a fall craft tradition!
