I admit that I struggled with disappointment for a few minutes when Jane was born–I knew how badly Tommy wanted a brother. But he is such a sweet big brother to his little sisters.
I love that even in her sleep, Janie wanted to hold his hand.

This is the sweetest thing ever. Makes me excited to have older kids with a baby this time around!
Also, I just want you to know that you are a great mom! I can imagine that in this transition period with fluctuating hormones, you question that from time to time (unless, of course, you are nothing like me and are quite self-assured and on top of life!)… And I want to take a minute and affirm how wonderful you are and how lucky your kids are to have you as a mom, and how even luckier (the Christian thing would be to say blessed, but whatever :)) Derek is to have you as his wife!
