The kids just LOVE our fine art “special” for September. We’ve been reading about and watching movies about Monet, and it has inspired a frenzy of painting. Tommy has created our own “art corner” in the family room, and we’ve used up an obscene amount of art supplies every day we’re at home. (Family–art supplies, especially for painting, are at the TOP of our Christmas wish list now!) Now I just need to find out which art museum(s) in the area have Monets so we can take a field trip to see one or two in person!

The Getty has at least 2 Monets that I remember. If the older ones are into art, that would be a great field trip for them. Getty is nice that you can bring a picnic and go eat by the gardens when they need some time to run around. -Josh
