Reading with Elizabeth

Most of my reading in a day is per Tommy’s request; during his nap yesterday, I decided that Elizabeth and I were going to have some special girl bonding time with one of my all-time favorite children’s illustrators, Tasha Tudor.  We savored A Time To Keep together, then I left her to look at my favorite page (the May Pole–how appropriate for my May baby!) while I cleaned up the kitchen.  It didn’t hold her attention for too long before tummy time got old, but give her five years, and she’ll be gazing at the beautiful illustrations for hours (like I did)!  I’m actually starting to get ideas in the back of my mind of making her a Tasha Tudor-themed little girl’s room when she moves out of the primary colors nursery… but maybe I should finish Tommy’s robots and spaceships room before I start planning for two years down the road…

I LOVE that book. Grew up with it, and I think the May Day picture was my favorite, too… maybe because I am a May baby. Nope. Just kidding, my favorite was August.
