Our dear Nat is married. The Mauck Herd was there (though Regina had to stay home with poor sick Dominic). Grandma Willett stayed home with the kids so I could just focus on quality time with my girls. We need to do this more than every 4 years! After the wedding, we enjoyed sunset at […]

Now that we’re going to our (amazing!) church just a few blocks up from the Santa Monica Pier, we decided to meet the Watlingtons, fellow State College transplants, for lunch after church this weekend. We’re looking forward to showing off the sights to our families next time they visit for a weekend!

Yesterday we joined our CBS homeschool playgroup for a field trip to Underwood. This time it was much less about the pumpkins and much more about all the fun with friends. Tommy, Jackson, and Jonah were pretty much inseparable. Despite the frowny faces, the girls all enjoyed the wagon ride… Picking out pumpkins always takes […]

Our new church is continuing to bring blessings. Yesterday we met up at Underwood Farms with another homeschooling family from PCC. Today the girls and I had a play date with another family from CBS. They moved here from KY last year, and Madalyn was in Elizabeth’s CBS class, but we somehow never connected. Janie has played around the back creek before, but today she was in her element, wading and splashing and playing in it for almost an hour. The other kids […]

It’s been a while since I’ve given a this-is-how-things-really-are post, since there’s not often much positive to discuss on the learning-to-love-living-in-SoCal-front. The friend situation hasn’t really changed much, except that one of the three families we actually hung out with has moved away. We just started back up with CBS, which is always fun, and […]

A friend just told us that the LA Philharmonic rehearses for their concerts at the Hollywood Bowl the morning of the performance–and anyone can go in and listen for free! So we packed up a lunch and a bunch of snacks, grabbed some journals and colored pencils, and drove down to Hollywood this morning to […]

We did our traditional trip to the Reagan Library festivities, and this year Susie won Bingo and got a Ronnie to match Lizzie’s from last year! And the kids helped me make a flag pie, with blueberries and cherries (since the cherries were on sale for 98 cents a pound at Sprouts this week!). It […]
