After a day of adjustment, we’re pretty much back to normal around here. Bug is making messes… And the kids are conscientiously coloring for school. Latin vocab. And as usual, Q is hamming it up for the camera…

We’re learning about the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt by Pharaoh Menes, and today the kids colored reliefs based on stories of his life. And of course they insisted on taking pictures to put on the blog. It’s quite a meta life they live–should I be concerned?

Last week, the entire CCA student body spent an afternoon in Sumerian garb, making tin foil jewelry and cuneiform seals out of clay. I remember doing the same project at Morningstar Homeschool, 25 years ago!

We read about King Sargon today, and the big kids are coloring pictures and maps. Susie is entertaining herself with Lumi-doh (Thank you, Aunt Terri!) And this is how Janie homeschools…don’t worry, I pulled her off right after taking the picture!

Yesterday was a little rougher than Monday. I didn’t get up as early, and the kids were a bit crabby. Susie in particular is just testing limits nonstop, all day long. But we still survived!
