A little bleary from enduring an overnight sleep study down at Children’s Hospital. It took us two days to get all the goop from the probes out of her hair!
We take the children’s menu at Paradise Cove very seriously!
The flowers at Point Dume were amazing
Not black eyed Susan’s, but close enough to Susie’s flower that we had to have a photo shoot.
Perfect weather for a Saturday morning hike!
We saw three whales, too!

Last week Grandma and Grandpa finally got to meet Annie. We mostly hung out around the house due to the rain the first half of the week, but we also got in some quick trips to the Santa Barbara Sea Center and Zoo !

Annie had two more people to read her beloved Gossie and Gertie books to her!
Looking at fish with Grandma
Califonia’s state fish, the garibaldi!
Petting sea stars…
…and sea anemones
The picture quality is not good since this was taken with my phone inside, but this is proof that Annie actually petted a bunch of sea stars and a sea cucumber and liked it!
At the Zoo, the big kids looked at animals, and Annie looked at the grass. But she was pretty happy about it.
We visited all our traditional zoo stops.
And we played in the little kid playground in the middle of the zoo, beloved by Muller girls since 2011.
The view is pretty nice there.
Slightly different background than the Detroit Zoo!

Legoland, with all five kids

Three of the kids had coughs and fevers last week, but we had gotten tickets to Legoland and had a nonrefundable room, so we drove down to San Diego and hoped for the best. As it turned out, it was raining cats and dogs on Thursday, so the park was closed. We did a quick trip through the San Diego Natural History musuem in the morning and then came back to the Legoland hotel to rest and recuperate. I stayed in with still-feverish Annie while Derek took the kids through the little Sea Life aquarium. The night was rough. The breakfast buffet was great. And then on Friday, the kids had fun, even though Tommy wasn’t 100% (and is borderline too old for Legoland) and Annie spent most of the day crying or sleeping against one of us.

The scraggly kid in the aqua shirt with her back to us is Susie helping act out the Cinderdude fairy tale show at the hotel Thursday night. She was the footman trying the shoe on everyone!

Happy 12th Birthday, Tommy!

This dude has been hangin’ out with us for a dozen years now, so we had to celebrate by giving him all dozen N.D. Wilson children’s books.

I am pretty much failing at a lot of this mom stuff, but getting ND Wilson to sign his books for Tommy was definitely a win! Tommy was ecstatic.
Triple Chocolate Ganache Cake, as requested. We didn’t have 12 candles, so we had to make do with 1 and 2 of the same lego candles we’ve been using on his cakes for, um, several years. I promised him we’d get new candles when he entered his teens.

Big Sister Janie

Janie is so proud of being a big sister. I need to be better about capturing little scenes like this that happen all day, every day.

His Latin didn’t get done today, but how could I protest when it’s because he was reading to his baby sister?

Coloring Lessons

It’s been intense around here, but Annie is learning new things every day, and we’re all still in love!  This week, the girls took it upon themselves to teach her to color.  Now she asks for it every day!

We had to try out the new Christmas gifts down at Bluffs Park.

The girls and I took Grandma and Grandpa to the Huntington!

Then the next day, we headed down to the Getty Villa.

And we went out to dinner at Paradise Cove, where Annie behaved for the whole time.

And we even managed a photo shoot with five Muller kid smiles!

Merry Christmas 2018!

This year’s matching Christmas pajamas brought to you by primary.com.

The much longed-for yellow body pillow was perhaps the biggest hit of the morning.

Annie needed help opening all her presents, but she quickly got into it.

Tommy helped Daddy assemble her big present!  She is a big fan.

Elizabeth gave her sisters matching dresses…and was thrilled to see that we had gotten her one, too!

Everyone had to go out right away and try out their new razors.

Tommy is so good about reading to his little sisters.
