Malibu AYSO is so chill. And there are hardly any girls playing U6. So Derek is coaching a co-ed team in which Susie is the only girl. She picked the team color, and the boys picked the name. Go, Purple Jaguars!
I have so many little matters to tell you of, that I cannot wait any longer before I begin to put them down.

Little Micah is Janie’s friend, not to be confused with big Micah (who is 6), Elizabeth and Susie’s friend. So many girls named Micah in our life! Today Janie got a morning playdate with Little Micah, the big kids got to do school on the road, and I finally got to discuss Toxic Charity with Melanie! And we came home to a clean(ish) house. Yay for three year old play dates.

I picked oceans for our science theme for the year (for obvious reasons). Yesterday it was over 90 by 10 am, so we rushed through school and headed out to Malibu Lagoon (hadn’t been there in five years!) to do some nature study.
Note our condo in the background–little light colored splotch in the mountain above Tommy’s head.
Then back home for lunch and the rest of school. Pretty convenient field trip, I must say.

Medieval History+Illuminated Manuscripts Exhibit at the Getty=Homeschool Field Trip, Of Course!
We hadn’t been here for three years, and the kids got way more out of it this time. The family room even had a whole illuminated manuscript activity station, so we got to hit the main point of our field trip twice.
Can you spot Tommy’s message?
Other than having to wear Janie through the French furniture exhibits so that she wouldn’t touch the pretty beds, it was a relatively easy stroller-free field trip. The kids are growing up!
