It is so fun to pull out my favorite clothes from my own childhood and see Elizabeth enjoying them just as much as I did!
I have so many little matters to tell you of, that I cannot wait any longer before I begin to put them down.

For Tommy’s birthday, he and his band of 13 other brave men quested to complete 9 labors for glory, honor, and cupcakes.
Labor One: Create shields using duct tape. (Perfect for using up old packing boxes!)
Labor Two: Fight the evil one-eyed cyclops monster using only their swords. (Cyclops ended up flying away in terror…)
Labor Three: Free team flags from their frozen enchantments. (I’d been planning on having them use super soakers to melt the ice, but the boys decided it was more fun to hurdle the ice chunks around until they broke apart.)

Labor Four: Play Capture the Flag with rescued flags. (Thankfully, a few of the other boys had read Percy Jackson, too, and made the tenuous connection to Greek Mythology.)
Labor Five: Defeat Medusa by pulling the (balloon) snakes off her head without being frozen. (We honestly could have played freeze tag all afternoon.)
Labor Six: Destroy the skeleton army. (Derek made the pinata himself. I’m never paying for one again!)
Labor Seven: Feed Cerberus (heads created with cones) bocce balls to sneak into the Underworld.
Labor Eight: Win Olympic glory with discus hurling.
Labor Nine: Feast on pizza!
Conclusion: Sing to the birthday boy and enjoy the well-earned cupcakes.

Hosted the Pepperdine Law School board games club (faculty sponsor: Professor Muller) tonight. Feeding 8 twenty-something boys is much more satisfying that cooking for a bunch of skinny SoCal girls. Double batches of homemade pizza and chocolate chip cookies went, and there’s salad left over for tomorrow…
