Janie at 20 months!

Well, guess who told me she had to go potty this morning, sat down, and went?  Yes, that would be this child.

Her language is really starting to take off.  She’s repeating most words we say to her, including our names.  And she has figured out to nod her head (though she can say “yeah” or “da” when she wants to answer in the affirmative).  She loves taking care of her baby doll (and her sisters’ baby dolls), pushing the stroller and shopping cart, coloring with the big kids, and picking out which shoes to wear.  Everyone gushes about how cute her pigtails are, so she keeps them in better than any other hair arrangement.  She still gets carsick frequently (I’ve taken to stocking an extra church dress in the diaper bag because the 405 on the way to church is deadly), doesn’t eat much of anything, wants to drink out of big kid cups, and screams when she doesn’t get her way.

We love our Jane-Bug so much!

Susie Has Been Lapped

Today Susie came to me with a poopy diaper that I hadn’t put on her–Lizzie had changed her old wet one and put on a fresh one just minutes before.  Something’s wrong if your sister 23 months older is perfectly changing your diaper, right?

Then tonight Janie pooped on the potty.  Something’s wrong if your sisters 23 months younger than you is more successful on the potty than you, right?

On the plus side, today Elizabeth has successfully changed a diaper, encouraged a baby to poop on the potty, wiped the baby, emptied the potty into the toilet, and cleaned out the potty bowl.  Her Mommy Skillz are, like, awesome.

Big Kid School

Susie begs every day to do “big kid school” like her siblings.  So I found an old alphabet book hand-me-down from our babysitters, and she’s happily “writing letters” now.

Natalie’s Wedding Weekend

Our dear Nat is married.  The Mauck Herd was there (though Regina had to stay home with poor sick Dominic).  Grandma Willett stayed home with the kids so I could just focus on quality time with my girls.  We need to do this more than every 4 years!

Anne Elizabeth Cullen, the world's most perfect baby. Seriously, at 12 weeks old, none of my kids would have been as chill and sweet as Baby Annie!

The verdict: frescos are fun but much harder than painting on paper!

Santa Monica Pier

Now that we’re going to our (amazing!) church just a few blocks up from the Santa Monica Pier, we decided to meet the Watlingtons, fellow State College transplants, for lunch after church this weekend.   We’re looking forward to showing off the sights to our families next time they visit for a weekend!
