Em and I have often discussed Tommy’s reading habits.  He loves reading–we hope it’s part-hereditary, part-learned.  (No, I’m not saying that he’s gifted.  Do not misinterpret this post.)  So what’s a day in Tommy’s library like?  What books would he ask us to read him in a typical day?  I decided to catalog Saturday as an experiment to see what he’d read in a given day.  These books were all picked by him when he felt like reading, and we didn’t turn any way.  (Believe me, on any given day, we’re happy to foist a book on him or reject a book on its third reading.)

One important lesson of this experiment (of note, that is).  Because we’ve been snobbish with our book selection (in a good way), Tommy essentially has only a Hobson’s choice (in a good way): whatever book he picks is guaranteed to be a good book!  And, it’s important for our sanity to read only good books aloud!

We hope to repeat this experiment every several months.  Then Tommy will have a little record in the future!
