This morning at my ob-gyn check-up, I was 2 cm dilated (yay! progress! not that it means much…) and looked good. I told the doctor my desire to have this baby asap but my hesitation with going the full induction route, so she compromised and stripped my membranes. I don’t know what I was expecting–the procedure itself was more uncomfortable than painful–but I really hope the cramping I’m feeling now leads to some contractions soon! The baby’s head is still down, and this doctor said he or she feels on the small side of average. Then I went to see my physical therapist, and she was very encouraging that 25 minutes of real pushing with a 7lb10oz baby could mean just a couple pushes with a smaller one the second time around. My hip is so much better that I’m not going back to PT again, and it shouldn’t be a problem during labor and delivery. So I’m feeling encouraged (if crampy), and hopefully things will get going now!
