One interesting thing about having a farm share is that we’ve become very aware of how late the growing season is this year (due to the unusually cool weather). That means that our farmer’s crops are still scanty, and this week’s box was the smallest yet. But that’s okay–I haven’t exactly had time for trying new gourmet recipes!
This week we got lettuce, salad turnips, bok choy, oregano, strawberries, and rhubarb. Yesterday I tried a new recipe for Rhubarb Crumb Bars that was quite yummy. We’ve used most of the stuff up because I’m taking the kids down to Columbia for Peter and Cammy’s second reception tomorrow while Derek stays home to recouperate. (Don’t worry–Leann trained up to drive down with me, and our pastor’s family is keeping an eye on Derek here…)
