The comcast guys came today, and our internet is hooked up! I don’t have to try to do everything on Derek’s phone anymore, which is good, because he’s not here… He’s in DC, for a conference. The kids and I are holding down the fort by ourselves ’til Sunday.
I’m going to post the rest of our Italy pictures tomorrow, maybe, but for now, we have more unpacking, finding our way around, a play date tomorrow with a new friend from the church we visited this spring, and hanging out at the library. The public library here is awesome. It has a train table and a wooden blocks table and couches around for parents to lounge in and read while their kids play. And it is air conditioned, which our house is not, which is the main reason we’ve been there every day. I’m already becoming a library regular.=)
So far we like State College, it’s easy to find our way around, and people (the few we’ve met) have been friendly. I’m actually so exhausted that I’m not feeling too social yet–jet lag is just now getting better–but we’ll make more friends soon. The kids are doing better every day. Sun-Tues with nothing in the house was hard for all of us, especially when Derek left for work Mon morning. Tommy just wailed and wailed about wanting to go back to Chicago, and Elizabeth wanted to be held all day. But they played outside a bit today, we have a lot of their toys unpacked in the back porch/sun room, and we’re making it. I’m getting a bit more unpacked during every nap.
Pictures to come…
So glad you are back online! Hope you are getting more sleep.
So… we just got comcast, too… and discovered that with our internet only package, we also have basic cable. They can’t turn one on without the other, apparently. I am elated and bummed at the same time. So now, if you call and I don’t answer, I might be watching What Not to Wear on TLC. Just kidding.
hahahahahaha
