Just in the nick of time, I finished our Jesse Tree advent calendar. I got the idea a couple years ago from Christina, but since this is the first time we’ve ever stayed home for the month of December, this was the first year it was worth doing something formal for Advent. I started working on it about 6 weeks ago, but it’s such a pain to get my sewing stuff out and put it all back away every night, so I didn’t finish it until this afternoon! I’m not too happy about how a couple of the symbols turned out, but it’s good enough for this year. Nothing like a deadline. =) Here’s how it will look on Christmas:
We sortof combined a couple different Jesse Tree readings we found online, primarily here and here, to come up with our own list. The kids are excited about putting a new symbol on the tree every night, and hopefully this will help all of us prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth!

Oh I love it!!!! I’ve been longing to do a Jesse Tree but haven’t had the time nor energy to look for all the ornaments. I not thought to make it out of felt with a banner! Your children will surely be blessed by the Tree for many, many Christmas seasons.
awesome! Maybe I will try to draw/laminate one next year ; )
There are a ton of resources out there, from printing off and coloring paper ones to tracing them onto paper to felt kits on etsy to from-scratch ones like mine. Just google “Jesse Tree,” and you’ll get tons of ideas. =)
