Oh, Q…

I have had such a hard time getting Q to eat this week!  Maybe a couple bites all morning, then lots of discipline to get her to eat a tiny, tiny amount of dinner.  I’m trying to make up for it by giving her heavy whipping cream to drink (after we’ve given up on the eating).  And boy, is she crabby (from her empty stomach?!).  But she still smiles for the camera.

I am sure you have tried everything, but when I am worried about food consumption I do a smoothie for breakfast. Greek yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, banana, and sometimes kale. You can do a on almond milk oatmeal one too. That way you don’t have to worry about eating for the rest of the day.

The second one is peanut butter, almond milk and oatmeal. They both use a tiny bit of uncooked old fashioned oats.

Sadly, Susie doesn’t get into smoothies. Or dessert. I have tried the most fattening combos of smoothies (greek yogurt or heavy whipping cream or all types of faux milks) and all sorts of her favorite fruits, and she sips maybe a couple sips and leaves the rest in the fridge for the rest of the day. Seriously, this kid isn’t interested in anything with calories. She eats part of a chocolate chip cookie and crumbles the rest. If she didn’t look so much like us, I’d wonder if she was switched at birth with the child of some vegan hippie family. My big kids love smoothies, though, and it’s a great way to sneak in extra veggies! Every time I give them a smoothie with frozen spinach blended in, I think, “I am being SO CALIFORNIAN this morning!” hahaha
