Since I had my sewing machine out this weekend, anyway, I thought I’d take my Sunday afternoon to whip up a shirt dress for Elizabeth. I found this tutorial for turning a man’s dress shirt into a little girl’s dress, and I’ve been saving Derek’s worn out work shirts for months. Well, they were pretty straightforward directions, and it took a bit over three hours. My attempt to adjust the sample pattern up a size using one of Elizabeth’s current favorite dresses turned out to be problematic (it’s a little tight over the torso)…I’m hesitant to try another tutorial that has you making your own pattern. All in all, though, it’s cute enough for a little girl who has been asking for more dresses!
And Tommy insisted on taking another picture of me with one of his sisters. I seriously need to replace the batteries in his own camera, or he might permanently borrow mine!
