Goodbye, Patten Books

Still sick and trying to rest, I’m doing my annual reread of the Anne books.  Anne of Avonlea is so incredibly funny!  Is it a coincidence that so many of the literary heroines of my girlhood were teachers?  Anne, Laura, Christy, Jo, and the rest were so inspiring…how many little girls have dreamed of teaching because of them?
