We’re into a nice bedtime routine this summer. After dinner, we usually go straight to the bath tub, where the kids play until they’re pruney. Usually the Little One gets out first, and after getting dried off and lotioned up, she immediately searches for her shoes, even though we tell her she can’t wear them […]

She’s thinking about it… …and there she goes! Tommy narrates it all to Grandma (along with a drawn-out story of how we had to go to the store this morning to get more milk for his sister…fortunately, grandmas have a grand capacity to listen to their grandson’s ramblings…).

Yesterday Elizabeth turned 14 months old. Now that she’s starting to take steps, she’s having a lot more fun at the playground!
Brittany Drive House Tour: Elizabeth's Room

Finally! One of our rooms is completely decorated! Most of this will look familiar from her nursery, but a few teapot accents are moving her more towards the tea party room that she’ll have when she moves up to a big girl bed. (There’s really no way to make a cloth diapering center look cute, […]
The most memorably birthday present to date!
Posted in Elizabeth on Jul 9th, 2010
Yesterday Elizabeth gave me pretty much the best birthday present ever–she started walking! She took not two, but six steps for Daddy, he called me in, then she did it again for me! Of course our camcorder was completely out of batteries, but we’re charging it now and hope to get some footage up over […]
State College Arts Festival

This week everyone’s been hyping the local arts festival, and since today was kids’ day, we decided to check it out. I actually didn’t take any pictures of the festival, since it was tons of booths of 9 year olds selling marshmallow guns and friendship bracelets, but we did have to document Elizabeth’s first corn […]
My siblings decided to visit us this weekend–John was here Friday through Sunday, and Peter and Cammy drove overnight from Columbia to be here Saturday until today. I’m so blessed that my brothers are my friends, too…and I have the best sister in law! The kids LOVED having everyone here, too! The boys tried to teach […]
Make that Seven Teeth
Posted in Elizabeth on Jul 5th, 2010
Another tooth popped through yesterday morning. That’s three teeth in a week, if anyone was counting. (Tommy didn’t have that many teeth until he was seventeen months old.) Elizabeth is handling it like a champ, though the 4 am tylenol wakings are starting to get to me…
It’s been an eventful week for the Little One. Last night she woke us at 1 am with shrieks, so we weren’t surprised to find her sixth tooth poking through this morning. Tommy and I decided to cheer her up with a little tea party with Betsy, George, and Lucy.
Front Yard

The kids were very relieved that we brought their car with us to PA (it was such common neighborhood property in Chicago that I think they worried I’d leave it with Clodagh or Juliet). Now Elizabeth is pushing it all over the front yard!
