Three Days in Chicago
Posted in Elizabeth, Homeschooling, Janie, Susanna, Tommy on Nov 9th, 2017
The kids and I just spent a long weekend learning about Chicago history and architecture while Derek had a conference. It’s a great city to visit, if not our favorite place to live! Save

Posted in Elizabeth, Iowa, Janie, Susanna, Tommy on Oct 31st, 2017
For this year’s Reformation Day, we went with a joint book/tv show theme. “Beep Beep! We helped the printer work […]

It has been so fun to see so many Hillsdale friends while we’re in the Midwest. Kristen Gregory grew up down the road in West Branch, so we were thrilled to see them this week when they were out to visit her family! We met up with them at the Hoover Library for a joint […]
A Nature Hike at Kent Park
Posted in Elizabeth, Friends, Homeschooling, Iowa, Janie, Susanna, Tommy on Sep 20th, 2017
This morning, the Isbells took us to Kent Park and showed us one of their favorite nature hikes. We saw milkweed pods, prairie grasses taller than us (with roots three times as big), lots of bugs and flowers, and a bull snake!
