We didn’t plan it, but we were pretty well color coordinated for church this morning. Of note: Tommy is now wearing Men’s clothes.

Well, we don’t really have a church home yet, but we went to in-person services for Good Friday and Easter, so things are looking up, right? Maybe by next year we won’t be wearing masks and social distancing? I thought we’d only get a picture of the kids, but our neighbor happened to be walking […]
Spring Break in Hillsdale, Rochester, and South Bend

Spring break found us heading to Michigan, where the girls hung out with Grandma for a few days while I stayed with Mariel and met up with Bethany and Keith for a Jane Austen CCA at Hillsdale! It was great to be back on campus and so great to have a couple days off from […]
The little girls are very intrigued by their big sisters’ new instruments. Tonight Elizabeth showed Janie the basics of cello. Lots of giggling ensued.
We’ve had a LOT of snow this winter–way more than the kids have seen during our brief midwest forays over the past nine years! But until now, it’s not been the best packing snow. When Tommy went out to snowblow the driveway this afternoon, he announced that it was finally sticky snow, so the girls […]
Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Muller

Grandma and Grandpa came down to spend Thanksgiving with us and helped us find the perfect tree! With covid restrictions closing down tractor rides, Daddy and Grandpa had to drag the tree all the way through the fields and back to the check-out area, but we managed it, even in masks.
When I saw that we were getting one more day in the upper 60s last week, I texted Jill and had Abe and Amy join us for one more warm weather hike! Pushing a toddler in a stroller up and down semi-cleared hiking trails is actually not too bad when you have two teenage boys […]
The girls have finally joined Tommy in obsessive love for the Oz books, so we squeezed in one more year of literature themed family costumes. (Honestly, I think Tommy just said yes because he realized being the Tin Woodman would give him another large plastic weapon…) No trick or treating for these covid-aware kiddos, so […]

All the kids got in to see Dr. Vallance one last time in June, and besides Susie’s ear and Annie’s eyes (both might require surgery), we had pretty good check-ups. We’ve loved Conejo Children’s Medical Group for the last 9 years, and we’re sad to say goodbye. Tommy’s 13 year stats (just going to put […]
Happy 11th Birthday, Elizabeth!
Posted in Elizabeth on May 13th, 2020
We’d hoped for a tea party with all our friends this year, but today was all about making do. Since we’re co-quarantining with the Romines, we decided on a picnic tea party, allowing us the tea party theme but within the only-playing-outside policy that we’d agreed on. Fortunately, it was a perfect day for a […]
