Susie’s Birthday Cake

Last night, I whipped up a flourless chocolate cake so that Susie would have something special for dessert.  Note how both her siblings are helping her blow out her candle.

Yum, eggplant parmesan and cake!  That’s a combo to enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Susanna!

Susanna is so incredibly squirmy these days that taking a picture is a major undertaking…and she has tooth #7 coming in, so she’s not too keen on showing off #5 (cut through Saturday) and #6 (arrived Monday).  She just wants to move, move, move.  We have her 1 year check-up on Monday, and I’m eager to see how much she’s grown and what Dr. Antall thinks about feeding her.  None of my pictures from this morning came out, but we started the day with a candle in a pancake and presents (mainly books) which her siblings obligingly opened for her and reading as I type.  Cake tonight, and a joint birth-tea party with Elizabeth next weekend!

We’re so blessed to have this spunky girl!

Introducing a Sippy Cup

She’s a fan.

Dodgers Game!

Saturday night found us in Dodger Stadium, taking in a game with some of the students and other profs from Derek’s section.  Despite staying out way past bedtime, all three kids did great!  Tommy’s favorite part was the Dodger Dogs because they were hot dogs but not hot (I’m not going to lie; they were the worst ballpark hot dogs I’ve had).  Elizabeth’s favorite was the huge TV screen because she got to go to a baseball game to watch a baseball game on TV.  And Susie’s favorite part was playing with Daddy’s and Tommy’s baseball caps.

SB Zoo with Abby

Yesterday we met up with Ariana and the kids for another trip to the Santa Barbara Zoo!  Other than running around with Abby, the highlight was finally getting to ride the zoo train!

Hand-Me-Down Fun

When you are tired of playing with your own toys, just turn to your older siblings’ stuff.

Can you tell how excited Elizabeth was (2 seconds before this picture was taken) to run around in her brother’s old Little Bear costume?

And Susanna seriously has a crush on Elizabeth’s purses!

Matthew’s still in the lead, aided by chocolate bunnies bigger than the kids’ heads…

…and tons of reading time…

…and general silliness…

Purse and Curls

This week, Susanna has become obsessed with carrying around her sister’s purse.

And I love, love, love how curly her hair gets after baths!

Sunday Best

The kiddos were super excited about their new outfits from Great-Aunt Terri!  Here’s a little photo shoot from Palm Sunday morning:
