I can’t believe how fast our little girl is growing up. She’s very girlie in her need to accessorize (shoes and hat at all times, thank you very much!), but she can make engine sounds right along with her brother, and she loves cars and duplos. She really loves pointing to children and animals in board books. She’s starting to use more words–mama, dada, bubba (brother), ba-bee (baby, herself), puppee (puppy, cat, bunny, any small animal), booberree (grapes, which she thinks are blueberries), shoe, oh-lee (holy), and probably a few more I’m not thinking of. She’ll frantically sign “more” or “please” if I’m not feeding her fast enough. We’re working on “thank you” and “all done” (but they’re not solid yet). She’s game for pretty much any food, including lettuce (?!), and she likes to feed herself with a fork or spoon. She’s pretty good at getting things into her mouth! Her favorite food is probably spaghetti (she had 7ths the other night). She wants to do everything that Tommy is doing, and she’ll follow him around the house or the yard. Tommy was much more able to entertain himself quietly with books and toys; Elizabeth is so much more social, and she always wants to be with people, preferably sitting on a lap. She is fascinated by babies and pretty friendly to anyone. She’s braver than Tommy was on the playground at this age–she swings and slides along with the big kids. She’s mostly down to one nap (with that morning nap coming back maybe a couple times a week), so she’s generally sleeping 1-3 and 7 pm-7 am. She’s close to outgrowing her size M Fuzzi Bunz and going up to the Large setting on her one-size diapers. (She’s also ready to move up to size 4 disposables, as soon as I get out to the store to get some more.) Her tummy is abnormally large, and it’s going to push her into 18-24 month clothes any day now. Although Elizabeth has never been a snuggler, she does like to nestle into you, turn to face outwards, and suck her right thumb and twirl her hair with her other hand. We call it “assuming the position.” Never a dull moment with this little girl around!

Oh, I LOVE the pic of she and Tommy…where he is holding on to her little face? So precious!
It’s funny… whenever I see pictures of 16 month olds, I think… Wow, that was darn young to have a second come along!! 🙂
Happy 16 months, Lizzie! And way to accessorize! You are one cute kiddo.
And tommy looks very maniacal in that one photo…. scary!
I am so glad she likes the hat. All of the pics are precious.
OK – now you just need to work on the words Grandma and Grandpa!!! 🙂
Wow, Kristen! Wait, was Sam really Lizzie’s age when Ailey was born? No way! You are some woman.=)
Haha…seeing this makes me slightly scared, as my Liam will be Lizzie’s age when his new sister or brother comes!
