Our fun-filled weekend with Grandma and Grandpa ended with the big girls’ big spring orchestra concert. They joined orchestra in March, after a few months of private lessons, but they caught on quickly and were definitely major contributors to the beginner’s orchestra section. We were supposed to have the concert outside, but the 10% chance […]

Susie’s First Violin Recital

On Sunday, all the attention moved to Susie, who had her first violin recital with the other students in Miss Cande’s violin studio! Susie played Allegro and Minuet 1 from her Suzuki book and then joined the advanced players for several fiddle songs. All the students played one of the first fiddle songs together, as […]

Snowy Sunday

We’ve had a LOT of snow this winter–way more than the kids have seen during our brief midwest forays over the past nine years! But until now, it’s not been the best packing snow. When Tommy went out to snowblow the driveway this afternoon, he announced that it was finally sticky snow, so the girls […]

Grandma and Grandpa came down to spend Thanksgiving with us and helped us find the perfect tree! With covid restrictions closing down tractor rides, Daddy and Grandpa had to drag the tree all the way through the fields and back to the check-out area, but we managed it, even in masks.
