Tonight was so beautiful that our kingdom group headed to the playground. The guys ran around with the “big kids” while we girls and baby Drew watched from the sidelines. And I discovered how hard it is to get a good picture of three active kids up past their bedtime on a summer evening! This […]

Our little narcissist

Tommy’s current favorite places in the house are the stairwell (he learned how to climb stairs at Grandma and Grandpa Willett’s) and the linen closet mirror. There’s nothing as exciting as your own reflection if you’re a handsome little dude!
Day at the Park
Posted in Tommy on Apr 24th, 2008
I’ve been taking a break from blogging this week as I finish my ball gown (it’s all done except the final clasps), but we have been doing stuff this week. Monday was so beautiful that we went to the park with my friend Jessica and her kids, Teddy and Angie. The kids loved the playground, […]
Saturday was the big day: Tommy’s first trip to a major league ball park. We had taken him to a South Bend Silverhawks game last spring, but this was the real thing. With Dave in town for the game, we got seats right behind home plate (and up about eight flights of stairs–next time we go […]
Tommy the Singer

Tommy’s favorite song is “The B-I-B-L-E” (preferably sung loudly and with all the motions). Tommy loves standing up when we sing “I stand alone on the word of God!” and has just started saying “Bah-Bah!” at the end as I shout, “Bible!” All hours of the day, you can hear him singing “Ay-Dee-Ay-Dee-Ay-Dee,” which clearly means B-I-B-L-E. […]

You’ve heard of bikers…here’s my Hawaiian Triker, enjoyin’ the sunshine in the backyard. Authentic outfit courtesy of Uncle Piko! So helpful with the yardwork!
Our amazing babysitter

We love our babysitter. Ashley is amazing. Tommy’s grandmas are great, but we know that they were great mommies, so we take it for granted that they are great grandmas. =) There’s nothing we should take for granted about Ashley. She’s taught Tommy how to say “up!” and use the baby sign language for “please,” and she sings […]
We decided to celebrate the sunny afternoon by planting our vegetable garden! Tommy was very helpful–he grabbed big handfuls of dirt every time I had planted something–just to make sure it was nice and mixed. I had to explain that the tomato and squash seeds need to stay under the dirt in order to grow… […]
After much last-minute stress and scrambling, we managed to make it to Indiana for the weekend! Our first stop (literally–no diaper or gas or food stops the first four hours) was in Bloomington to stay at the Talcott Family Bed and Breakfast. In keeping with tradition, we ate Anna’s great food, talked and talked, and […]
The first bike helmet

So what does a mommy do when awakened at 3 am by a teething infant’s screams? After an hour and a half of trying to fall back asleep? Why get up and deep clean the fridge, of course! Then finish a baby quilt for a friend. Then sort emails ’til dawn. Then run around like a madwoman all […]
